Meet Jeff Thompson

Jeff Thompson is a seasoned community leader with a long track record of delivering results across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. With experience guiding organizations through growth and change, Jeff has helped shape many of Fredericton’s most impactful initiatives — from innovation and economic development to education, health, and social support.

He has served on boards including Knowledge Park Inc., Science East, the Greater Fredericton Community Economic Development Agency, and HotSpot Parking, a local tech company now doing business across North America. As an angel investor and mentor to local entrepreneurs, Jeff works to foster a thriving, resilient, and inclusive economy.

But Jeff’s commitment to community goes beyond leadership roles. He gives back directly as a volunteer at the Fredericton Community Kitchens, helping provide meals to those in need, and at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, where he serves as a Greeter, offering support and direction to patients and visitors. In recognition of his outstanding service during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeff was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal — a testament to his dedication to the well-being of New Brunswickers during a time of crisis.

Jeff is running to represent Ward 10 because he believes Fredericton needs councillors who listen, respond, and plan smartly for the future. He is committed to transparency, including recurring informal ward meetings and a push for more open discussion at City Hall — not behind closed doors. He will advocate for smart growth, housing solutions, fiscal responsibility, and policies that enhance the livability of our neighbourhoods.

With a strong belief in collaboration and engagement, Jeff welcomes input from all residents. His campaign is rooted in the idea that when we work together — across neighbourhoods, backgrounds, and perspectives — we can build a more connected, inclusive, and vibrant Fredericton.
